Another Aurora Borealis shot.. Froze my arse off for this one.. I walked outside, saw the lights blaring at me, and ran back in to grab my camera/tripod. I said to myself that I would stay close to the apartment and only be out for a few minutes. True to myself, I somehow ended up a mile from home, on the ice road. Thin jacket, thin gloves, and no long johns.. Thank goodness I was wearing my boots.
Anyways, it was -25 out and my batteries died pretty quick, but I managed to snap off a few goodies. Also made it back home alive with all my appendages sans frostbite.

Another magnificent picture Lee. Worth freezing your butt off for. As long as it wasn’t me.
Ah, that’s beautiful. Minus 25! We get cold winters here, but I guess we don’t really have anything to whine about. And I like the name of your site. Now that’s something we do have in common. It’s hard to keep the dust out of the camera on windy days in the Kansas Flint Hills.
That’s awesome! I really want to see the northern lights that bright one day.
Wow, so much red and orange! This is a great photo, even the stars are visible.
Fabulous!
This is amazing shot Lee..

Wow! and wow again! I didn’t know the northern lights could be that bright and colorful. Look at all those stars… Thanks for posting this fabulous photo so city dwellers, like me, can see what a real sky looks like. You have an eye for beauty, Lee!
