I’ve walked past this place a bunch of times in the past week and a half.. I’ve seen this lady almost every time.

this is a lovely picture. such intense colors and no garbage on the street. what a switch from Inuvik.
Actually, I think this is the only part of Male’ that doesn’t have any garbage. Male’ is a very dirty city.. You will see when you get here. I think it is fixable if they had more garbage cans, but you will notice that there isn’t that many around. Last month when I was in Singapore it was a different story, it seemed that half the nation was employed in city maintenance. Everything was remarkably clean. On the other hand, as you will find out, Male’ is quite crowded.. 100,000 peeps on this tiny island.. So that is a big contributing factor to all the garbage!
Anyways, back to sipping coffee with my feet in the sand!
I think this lady is wondering why, every time she looks out her door she sees this young guy with a camera looking at her - and then - taking her picture!
Lee… Great Shot. The intriguing entrances and colours of the streets of Male, and the quiet visionaries of women in the doorways… always shots i wanted to brave and never could. Your and Becky’s photographic talent makes me miss the island! Hope you both are well and Happy New Year!
