Back in Inuvik, back to work.
Yesterday, and today, we flew out to the Canadian Coast Guard ship the “CCGS Amundsen” to change crew and drop off some fresh groceries. The ship is currently located south of Sachs Harbour, NT, in the Arctic Ocean.
If you follow DustySensor closely you may recall my previous journey to the ship in pure darkness. Well, this time the sun was up and we got to see the ship. They made another strip on the ice for us but this time it wasn’t plowed due to their plow cat being broken. But that didn’t deter us. After we landed I overheard another passenger say, “If Santa Clause can do it, so can these guys”. I suspect I’ll be quoting that random passenger to my grandkids one day.

This is amazing! Always wanted to do stuff like this, except that i hate cold.
Maybe one day, in a big jacket!
Very pretty photo.
Absolutely splendid. The colors are extraordinary and you sure don’t see something like this everyday. Gotta love the title:-)
Looks like I started a rush of VFXY activity for you earlier! Very impressive shot and fascinating story and link back to go with it.
Awesome, I enjoyed the quote of the mariner, excellent photo!
