I hung out with this guy for a bit at Herschel Island. He was quite curious and kept circling around to get closer as I snapped pictures of him.

Lee, another neat photo. However the thing that fascinated me is the timber in front of the animal. Looks like fallen trees but from where? I don’t recall seeing anything remotely similar during our visit.

The driftwood comes from the Mackenzie Delta Arctic Ocean watershed. It washes out the mouth of the delta then drifts along the shoreline with the current. That stuff could be from the top of Manitoba, or even BC if it was lucky enough to safely navigate all the way up the Mackenzie Delta.
