Yesterday we managed to get out for a nice picnic dinner and hike. This shot was taken 9:48pm and the sun was still blaring quite high above the horizon. When we were finished the hike at 12, the sun was still high in the sky giving us light to the southern equivalent of 5:00pm. Its great for photographers because the golden hour of photography, where the light is just right, lasts for about 6 hours at this time of year.

I shot it hand held from below the ridge and just upped the contrast a tad in post processing.
Nice capture… It’d have been better still if you’d have cropped the far right end off
