Found this boat along the shore in Grise Fiord, and I’m sure this location will be its wintering spot due to the oncoming freeze-up. Looks like someone modified it and added a cabin.
As a side note, apparently my captain Simon, and I, were part of history. The government was working with the community of Grise Fiord to start up their own fishing industry. Apparently it was a few years in the making and we flew the first piece of machinery up to Grise.. It was a winch/motor that reels in/out the fishing net. The government official took pictures of us with the box and the plane.. I wonder if we ended up on a newsletter somewhere.
Hasn’t made the Globe yet, but you ARE a star. Mom took her new Tech Geek Device (MacBook) into the school today and showed everyone your video. You are a star! All the kids were amazed and thought you were really “cool”.
