Last week I managed to get in some practice in the circuit for my commercial flight training. For 2.4 hours I practiced quite a few engine failures in the circuit, short field takeoffs and soft field landings. It has been quite hard these past few weeks to find good days to fly. Right now I am very close to the end of my training and all I need is 2 weeks to a month of good weather!
The red plane you see on the left is Northwestern Airlink’s SAAB 340 that does 2 daily runs back and forth from Detroit, usually hauling Toyota employees due to the big plant in Kitchener.
Its kind of funny making paying passengers wait for me to land and take off again. One day I was flying out of Hamilton when Wesjet had just landed and the tower requested him to pour on the breaks to let me taxi in front of him. All I could think about was all those passengers being choked by their seatbelt whilst the pilots slowed that huge hunk of metal down for my little 152. So next time you’re on a flight and the seat belt light comes on when its time to land you better buckle up, because you never know where I’ll be lurking!

Impressive, is that Chicopee in the background? I didn’t even know Kitchener had an airport
