Muskox herd up in Eureka, Nunavut. We saw at least 80 of these guys on the way from the airstrip to the weather compound.
A few things to note about the arctic mammal, Muskox:
- They are closer to the sheep and goat family than they are the oxen family.
- The world population is somewhere around 80-120 thousand. Estimated 68,788 on Banks Island. (Wonder who counted?)
- They are extremely aggressive around mid-August during mating season (good thing I was there in October!)

And they are the source of one of the most luxurious and expensive natural fibres in the world! Also one of the reasons I would like to go to the Arctic. So glad you got to see them and take pictures!
haha…. i used to work for the guy that probably counted them
