To start the season off right, the Aklak/Borek crew- along with the NorthWright Aviation gang, Paramedics, and Flight Services Personal- got together for a BBQ under the midnight sun. There was plenty of beer, grub, laughs, and even a little blood! Fun times indeed.
One thing you can definitely say about Kenn Borek/Aklak Air is that they have no shortage of great people. Its great knowing that when the Jet arrives from the south, its bringing friends that greet you with a big smile and hearty handshake.
Anyways, heres a picture of Andrew handing me the last beer in the cooler. Taken at 2am.. Gotta love the midnight sun!

That daylight all the time thing would take some serious getting used too.
2am eh?…this is going to be interesting but probably not quite as weird as 19 hours of darkness…
and I thought being light to 12:00 was bad, if we had that here we wouldn’t know when to stop flying
I think it’s cool how your camera seems to register texture and “grittiness.” The look reminds me of Saving Private Ryan or Band of Brothers.
Cool BBQ pic by the way — looks like you are ajusting well to Inuvik! Could this be the guy who flew me to Paulatuk?
