Sorry for the lack of posts recently.  Life has taken over!

Last week I received a phone call from a good friend up north indicating that a job spot has opened up at an air operator up north!  How far north?  Well, there isn’t any trees, it’s so cold that not much snow falls, and it looks like an arctic desert.  The name of the mystical northern community is Iqaluit, Nunavut, and it will be the new home of Becky and I come a few weeks.  Still don’t have the details of when I will be called up, but it will be quite soon.

Before I go up I need to finish off my Commercial Pilots License, pack, and say good bye to friends and family for a year.  So needless to say it has been SO busy.  My head has been in the books, and in the clouds (literally and figuratively).

In short, I have been way too busy to post, but for the fans of Dusty Sensor I felt I need to explain the absence of pixels.   But just wait- In a month you will see many many pictures of a world so unfamiliar to us southern folk, who knows, maybe I’ll meet some friendly polar bears willing to pose?  Anyways, stay tuned - I WILL BE BACK - and the sensor will remain dusty!

    Lee & Becky:
Does this mean your not going to be home for Christmas? I guess you must go where you are called. This almost seems like a religious calling. We will miss you but wish you well. Looking forward to seeing pictures of which we have never seen before.

I know why this feels totally freezing and isolated - because all the land on this map is white…if it were green I think I’d feel better about it…

I’m going to pretend it doesn’t get to minus fifty where we’re going….

I am staying tuned; excited to see the images from Canada’s great white north. I would love to be in your shoes, getting the experience to live in such a place for a year. Just be careful of those polar bears - as I’m sure you know, despite their cute appearance they are in fact the most aggressive and dangerous bear species.

Hi you two. I know when you see this you will have arrived at your new home. I hope the trip was good and I look forward to seeing your pictures on your new adventure. Hope those snaps worked good on your fur lined jacket :-)
